In / affectionate remembrance of / William Winstanley HOPE, / (Mariner,) / son of Horatio HOPE, / who departed / this life on the 24th June 1882, / aged 54 years. / Though rocks and quicksands deep, / through all my passage lie, / yet Christ will safely keep, / and guide me with his eye: / my anchor, hope, shall firm abide, / and I each boist;rous storm outride. / By faith I see the land, / the port of endless rest: / my soul, thy sails expand, / and fly to Jesus; breast! / O may I reach the heavenly shore, / where winds and waves distress no more. / Also Martha, / second daughter of the late / John WINSTANLEY, / who departed this life 14th Sepr 1882, / aged 85 years. / Good was her heart, and in friendship sound, / patient in pain, and loved by all around: / her pains are o;er ~ her griefs for ever done, / a life of everlasting joy she;s now begun. / Also Rosanna WINSTANLEY, / sister of the above, / died Jany 7th 1893, aged 82 years.
